If you are lucky enough to have a child in your family that has been chosen to play Strings in the school orchestra, or if you are curious about starting this journey yourself, read on to discover a world where the depth and  beauty of the sound you produce is limited only by your imagination. 

 

 Violins

The Violin is the most popular of the Orchestral stringed instruments, and your child's school will have more students playing this instrument than any of the others. The cost of a Violin can vary greatly, and the higher quality of instrument you have, the nicer sound your child will make - yes even at the very start! We have a great range of student-specific instruments, which all come professionally set up and ready to play, with cases and bows. They come in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and Full Size, and if you do not know which size your child needs, our friendly Team are on hand to measure. We have several brands available, including Enrico Student Plus, Enrico Student Extra, Vivo Neo, Raggetti RV2, Hidersine and Gliga St Romani.

 Violas

The Viola is bigger than the Violin, and with a rich, dark tone, has a clef all to itself. This make it a wonderful instrument for those who want to stand out in the Orchestra, and get to play the more "interesting" parts! As with our Violins, our Violas come fully set up, and with a case and bow. We have several brands to choose from, from Enrico Student models, Vivo Neo, and Hidersine Vivente, in all the popular student sizes. If you don't know your child's size, our friendly Team can help.

Cellos

Whenever the Cellos begin in the movie, you know the bad guy is about to appear! The haunting, emotive tones of the Cello make it a very popular instrument, in all kinds of music. And the lucky student who is learning this majestic instrument will doubtless enjoy their journey from day one! We carry Enrico Student Plus and Enrico Student II model Cellos, which come professionally set up with cases and bows.

 Double Basses

The backbone of the Orchestra, the staple of the Jazz Band, even popping up in the odd Punk ensemble - the Double Bass, String Bass or Upright Bass is a fantastic instrument to learn. Think of the possibilities! If you're lucky enough to have a Bassist in the family, come and have a chat to our friendly Team at The Music Spot and we will find the perfect fit for you.
