ORANGE AMPS have landed at The Music Spot!

That psychadelic, brightly coloured amp from the UK

In 1966 Cliff Cooper built a studio in a rented commercial building in East London. It was neighbours complaining about the noise that first gave him the idea of creating a miniature transistor amp and fitting it with an earpiece.

Difficulty in financing the studio lead to the opening of a music shop; difficulty in stocking the shop lead to the designing of his own line of amplifiers. And through an amazing journey, Orange Amps have today become a brand that stands for pure quality, British sound.

If you want to join the ranks of such artists as Jimmy Page, Geddy Lee, Stevie Wonder, Orianthi, and more big names than you can imagine, come on in, and find out why the biggest artists trust the brand with the bright orange skin.

THE LUNCHBOX AMP WITH A DARKER SIDE

Picking up where the original Tiny Terror left off, the Dark Terror takes this classic ‘lunchbox amp’ formula and gives it a dark, modern twist. Designed to put high-gain heavy tones first, the 4-stage preamp borrows technology from our flagship amps, packing the best of Orange saturation into a portable, 15 Watt package. Equipped with our all-valve FX Loop and output power switching, the Dark Terror summons not only demonic distortion but also great clean and crunch tones. This deceptively simple amp does so much more than just Metal.

Capable of 0.5, 1, 7 or 15 Watts of output, the Rocker 15 is an extremely portable combo that moves seamlessly from the home to the studio to the stage. Finally, a small, two channel, bedroom-friendly all-valve amp that you can legitimately gig!

With the Rocker 15 set wide open, smaller venues are comfortably taken care of despite the amp’s miniature footprint. Thanks to a custom Voice of the World Gold Label speaker and beefy transformers, the Rocker 15 has a remarkably potent delivery which takes full advantage of its EL84 output section. Even when scaling back the power, the amp’s tone stays fat and full, oozing warm valve compression and saturation without disturbing the neighbours.

Clever options aside, the Rocker 15 has real character – a twin channel design with a twist. The Natural channel is a purist’s dream with just a single knob: Volume. Finely balanced and supremely playable, this channel is perfectly voiced to bring out the ‘natural’ sound of the instrument under your fingers (or the pedals under your feet). The ‘Dirty’ channel is a more familiar affair with controls for Gain, Volume and a three band EQ section. Both channels are very sensitive to touch and playing dynamics, making Rocker 15 incredibly versatile despite its straightforward, player-friendly layout.

The amp also features a proper, valve-driven effects loop for total purity from input to output. So, whether you need a rig for low-volume practising, recording, or to be heard on the club circuit, the shape-shifting Rocker 15 will show itself to be the amp for every occasion.

The twin channel Crush 20 takes an uncompromising approach to guitar tone and puts it in a compact and portable package. With footswitchable Clean and Dirty channels our new high gain, four stage preamp design serves up a huge palette of overdriven and distorted sounds, rich in harmonic overtones.

The sheer punch achieved through the Crush 20’s custom 8″ Voice of the World speaker is nothing short of staggering, with a commanding delivery that belies amp’s modest footprint. Featuring an Aux In for backing tracks and a CabSim-loaded headphone output the Crush 20 is an obvious choice for players seeking the legendary ‘Orange sound’ in a practice amp format.

From warm modern cleans, through to vintage grind and all the way up to full-on distorted mayhem, the Crush Bass 50 combines the essentials of a practice rig with tone and features normally reserved for the pros. The Crush Bass 50 draws inspiration from our flagship OB1 and 4 Stroke amplifiers, bringing some of the defining elements of each into a compact combo.

Like the rest of the Crush Bass range, this 50 Watt model delivers bold and punchy lows courtesy of its analogue circuitry and ported cabinet. The extremely flexible active EQ section includes a sweepable parametric mid band, allowing players to shape their signature sound without limitations. For even more versatility, the interactive Gain and Blend controls are primed for creating enormous ‘bi-amped’-style tones with ease, adding extra harmonics and variable levels of grit to the core bass tone. They can also be switched in remotely using the optional footswitch. Other handy features include a buffered effects loop, integrated tuner, aux. input and a headphone output with our Cabsim circuitry.
